Healthy Earth Student Design Challenge

Global warming is now the number one concern for youth asked to reflect on the planet and its people. Fully 48% of students think about the environment once a week, with 11% thinking about it every day. But most students believe it’s not too late to save the planet – if we make changes now. (Lego Sustainability Research, 2021)

In 2021, Oregon Governor Brown signed an executive order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Oregon by 45 percent of 1990 levels by 2035, and 80 percent by 2060 — among the most ambitious in the country. (Washington Post, 2021)

In order to meet carbon reduction goals, impactful innovations and new partnerships are vitally needed across many of Oregon's biggest industries: transportation, energy production, farming, and building.

In Construct’s Healthy Earth Challenge, we will connect your students with real people working on climate issues, from policy-makers, to farmers, to green builders to electric vehicle manufacturers.
