How Might We Reduce Carbon Emissions?
There are so many ways to reduce carbon emissions from recycling plastic, to planting trees, and building parks, to reducing pollution in our air and water, to switching to electric vehicles, or riding the bus or train.

Student Teams Can Compete In 3 Easy Steps
1. Form a Team
We recommend at least two people and up to 4 is a good size team. Ask a teacher, parent or mentor to help you through the process. You will make one submission per team. (Note: we will accept submissions from individuals and mentorship is not required)
2. Select a Topic
Select a topic area that interests you, move through our design for innovation process and turn your ideas into high impact solutions! We recommend using our “Challenge Support Workbook” to help you develop your solutions, visit the Student Resources page to download a copy).
3. Develop Ideas
Develop your idea, describe the problem you are solving, the people involved, your solution, and the potential impact of your solution. Submit your innovations by April 16th (12pm PST) to be entered to win up to $2,500! We encourage you to review the judging criteria and the official rules attached below.
